Event Recap: Zeal Capital Partners Dinner

A few weeks ago, our CEO Ayoola John attended the Zeal Capital Partners Dinner, where he got to share what we’re building at Astronaut.

A key component of Zeal Capital’s mission is to level the playing field for all founders.

Data shows that only 0.48% of Venture Capital funding goes to Black startup founders, even though the US population is 14% Black.

This further perpetuates existing economic inequality, systemic barriers, and lack of representation. This harms not only the Black community, but the tech ecosystem as a whole with missed perspectives and innovation, especially in areas where Black founders can provide unique perspectives and insights on underserved markets.
